ITHACA, NY: The SUNY Geneseo Women's swimming & diving team defeated Ithaca College 172-128 for their 11
th win this season.
The women's 200-yard medley relay team of
Maya Marcyan,
Emily Thomas,
Sibby Lowe and
Erin Johannsen took first place with a time of 1:345.18, beating out Ithaca by .3 seconds. The Knights swept the 1000-yard freestyle, with
Hannah Brockman leading with a time of 10:30.38, followed by
Abby Funk and
Maura O'Donnell in second and third.
Alex Sotek finished on top in the 100-yard backstroke, touching at 57.05. Â
Emily Thomas took first in the 100-yard breast with a final time of 1:04.23, followed by Addison Luce in third at 1:07.88. in the 50-yard free,
Erin Johannsen led for the Knights, finishing at 24.01 for first place.
Sotek and Johannsen continued their impressive performances in the 100-yard free, finishing at 52.12 and 52.56. Sotek went on to take first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.04. Brockman went on to take first in the 500-yard free with her time of 5:09.27, followed by Funk in second with a time of 5:13.02. The 200-yard freestyle relay team ended the meet with a first-place finish, with Lowe, Johannsen,
Emily McCord and Sotek touching at 1:36.25.
Morgan Davey and
Lydia Benjamin took first and second place in the 1-meter dives, scoring 290.05 and 267.80 points respectively. They continued their performance in the 3-meter, with Davey taking first with a score of 278.90 and Benjamin in second with a score of 275.85.
The Knights will host the Geneca Diving Invite on February 7
th before heading to the Empire 8 Championships February 18
th to 21
st.
