GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo women's swimming & diving team celebrated senior day this afternoon, taking the win over Case Western Reserve 185 to 115.
The women's 200-yard medley relay kicked it off with an impressive first-place finish, with
Alex Sotek,
Emily Thomas,
Sibby Lowe and
Erin Johannsen touching at 1:46.45, four seconds ahead of second place.
Hannah Brockman led the way in the 500- and 1000-yard freestyle, finishing at 5:15.73 and 10:50.56. Teammate
Alex Sotek did the same in the 50-yard backstroke with her time of 59.30. Â
Emily Thomas,
Maura O'Donnell and Addison Luce swept the 100-yard breaststroke, with Thomas taking first with a time of 1:05.71.
Chloe Marcyan won the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard IM, finishing at 2:13.69 and 2:15.66, respectively. Â Sotek and Johannsen took first and second in the 100-yard free, with only .25 of a second separating the two. Johannsen picked up the first-place finish in the 50-free, finishing at 24.54. Thomas had another first place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching at 2:27.00.
Geneseo had an impressive performance in both the 1- and 3-meter dives, with Lydia Banjamin,
Morgan Davey and
Lauren Savage taking the top spots. Davey took first in the 1-meter with a score of 274.65 whiley Benjamin led the way with her scores 273.35 in the 3-meter.
The Knights will head to RIT on January 23
rd and 24
th.
