GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo women's swimming & diving team opened their spring semester with a win over Alfred University this evening, beating them 224 to 71.
The 200-yard medley relay opened the meet with a first-place finish, with
Maya Marcyan,
Emily Thomas,
Sibby Lowe and
Kaitlyn Geary touching at 1:47.99. Teammates
Courtney Sorbello, Addison Luce,
Maeve Wright and
Erin Zagrobelny took second with a time of 1:55.15.
Chloe Marcyan took the top spot in the 1000-yard freestyle, touching at 11:13.40.
Hannah Brockman followed it up with another first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with her time of 1:59.44. The Knights swept the 200-yard butterfly, with Wright, Geary and
Emily McCord taking the top spots, followed by Lowe and
Molly McGourty in the 50-yard free, finishing at 24.26 and 26.15.
In the 100-yard free, Brockman tallied another first place finish with a time of 56.41, with Thomas on her heels, finishing at 56.61.
Jessica Cronin took first in the 200-yard breast, while McCord finished on top in the 500-yard free. Lowe,
Chloe Marcyan and Geary took first through third in the 100-yard butterfly, all finishing within two seconds of each other. The freestyle relay team of Lowe, McCord, Geary and Sorbello finished in first with their time of 1:41.22.
Morgan Davey led the Knights in the 1-meter dive, scoring 447.10 for first place, followed by
Lydia Benjamin in second with a score of 440.00. Davey and Benjamin did the same in the 3-meter, scoring 281.15 and 265.75 respectively.
The Knights will celebrate their seniors on Saturday, January 17
th at 1 PM.
