GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming & diving team opened their spring semester with a win over Alfred University this evening, beating them 188 to 110.
The 200-yard medley relay opened the meet with a first place finish, with
Dylan Gallub,
Jake Nielsen,
Jack Keene and Matthew Pinzon-Pacheco touching at 1:34.06. Teammates
Alex Palmer,
Peter Peyser,
Connor Baird and
Casey Connors took second with a time of 1:35.73.
Nielsen and Baird took the top spots in the 100-yard breast, finishing at 56.56 and 58.56 respectively.
Peter Peyser took first in the 50-freestyle with his time of 21.90, followed by
Alex Trzaskowski in second with a time of 22.26. Peyser came up big again in the 100-yard, touching at 48.49 for first place.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Baird finished in first at 52.38, followed by
Jack Keene and
Aidan Saladino to take the top three spots. The 200-yard free relay took first place, with Pinzon Pacheco, Trzaskowski, Connors and
Gannon Moore touching at 1:10, 76.
Greg Meder led the Knights in the 1- and 3-meter diving, scoring 515.05 and 392.45. Nathan Davey took second in the 1-meter with a score of 462.90, while
Cameron Corona took second in the 3-meter, scoring 297.35.
The Knights will celebrate their seniors on Saturday, January 17
th at 1 PM.
