GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's track and field team had an impressive showing at their first outdoor meet of the season, held at the SUNY Geneseo track after a last minute change due to weather. The Knights came away with nine first place finishes in the meet to lead all other teams.
In the track events,
Sierra Doody picked up the first win of the day in the 1500m with a time of 4:47.40, while
Ari Reback took second. In the 100m hurdles,
Elaina Flaitz earned the top spot with a time of 15.42.
Nieve Mahood kept the momentum going for Geneseo in the 800m, posting a time of 2:25.55 in first place. Geneseo dominated the 5000m run, placing six runners in the top eight.
Ann Brennan and Gabriella McCarthy led the way with times of 17:32.70 and 17:34.16, respectively.
In the field events,
Skyler Klimow took first in the javelin, throwing a distance of 38.21m.
Gianna Batista added another top finish, going 2.90m in the pole vault.
Lanna Wandy led the way in the long jump, posting a distance of 5.33m. The Knights rounded out the competition with
Zoe Connor earning first in the hammer throw (52.62m) and
Corinne Albicker first in the triple jump (9.65m).
