CANTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Equestrian traveled to St. Lawrence Zone 2 Region 2 Regional Championship, and placed fourth out of nine teams. Additionally, the Knights had four riders qualify for the IHSA Zone 2 Championship on April 5 in West Virginia.

Ashley Merz placed 1st in Limit Equitation over Fences and 2nd in Limit Equitation on the Flat to earn her spot at Zones at next weekend. Teagan Werner and Aubree Yokota placed 1st and 2nd, respectively, in Novice Equitation on the Flat. Werner and Yokota will also be advancing to Zones, along with Airianna Jimenez who placed 1st in Introductory on the Flat. Merz, Werner, Yokota, and Jimenez will compete against the top two riders from each of the five regions next weekend. This marks the most riders that Geneseo has had qualify for Zones in the same year in program history. Colden Pike also competed in Regionals, and placed sixth Limit Equitation over Fences.
