NATIONAL CHAMPION!! Makowiec Highlights Day 1 Of NCAA Championship With 3-Meter Dive Title

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Trent Makowiec captured his first National Championship for SUNY Geneseo Swimming and Diving at the first day of the NCAA Championship Meet Wednesday evening. Makowiec scored a 558.35 to win the three-meter dive event, securing the program's third diving national championship performance, with Sam Randall winning the one-meter in 2016 and three-meter in 2018.

Joining Makowiec in All-American honors was Brian Pabisch, who secured his spot in the finals with a time of 20.15 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, which broke the Empire 8 record. Pabisch went on to finish 16th, earning Second-Team All-American distinction. Jordan Nielsen also competed in the 50 yard freestyle on the first day and finished 33rd with a time of 20.57.
