Men's Swimming and Diving Tops RIT and Trinity, Finishes Competition At DIII Shootout

GENESEO, N.Y.- The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming and diving team knocked off RIT and Trinity (TX) at home on Saturday, Nov. 8, while also finishing competition at the DIII Shootout in Chicago. The Knights improve to 7-0 on the season with the wins over the Tigers.

The Knights opened up their home tri-meet on a high note with Alex Trzaskowski, Alex Stoker, Jack Keene and Arman Tresnjo placing first in the 200 yard medley relay at 1:35.51. Edmund Wilson picked up the next first place finish for the Knights, placing first in the 100 yard backstroke at 53.09, out-touching Trzaskowski by .01 seconds. Stoker added another first place finish to his day, taking the top spot in the 100 yard breaststroke at 58.66. In the 50 yard freestyle, two Knights tied for first at 21.55, Nick Lemmo and Tresnjo. Matthew Pinzon Pacheco kept the winning ways going in the 100 yard freestyle, posting a winning time of 47.50.

Stoker kept his impressive meet going, recording a time of 2:11.70 in the 200 yard breaststroke for his third, first place finish. Keene followed suit in the 100 yard butterfly, recording a time of 51.76 for the top spot. The team of Lemmo, Pinzon Pacheco, Tresnjo, and Gannon Moore teamed up to place first in the 200 yard freestyle relay to cap off the swimming events for the day.

In the diving events, Nathan Davey swept both dives for Geneseo. Davey recorded a score of 301.43 in the one meter dive, and 271.13 in the three meter dive.

After breaking the program record in the 100 yard breaststroke on Friday in the DIII shootout, Alex Palmer took second in the 200 yard breaststroke on Saturday, recording a time of 2:01.28. Greg Meder also backed up his Friday performance by taking the top spot in the three meter dive, scoring 363.60, topping the event record set by former teammate Trent Makowiec in 2023. The team of Brian Pabisch, Jake Nielsen, Peter Peyser, and Chris Varrichio competed in the 200 yard freestyle relay and finished second with a time of 1:23.15. Geneseo finished fifth out of 10 teams at the meet.
