GAMBIER, OH: The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming & diving team headed to Kenyon College for the Total Performance Invite, beginning on Thursday, Nov. 20.
DAY 1:
The 200-yard freestyle relay opened the meet with a second-place finish, with
Brian Pabisch,
Jake Nielsen,
Peter Peyser and
Dylan Gallub breaking the school and conference record with a time of 1:19.63.
Alex Palmer put up a time of 1:50.13 for a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard IM. Nielsen and Pabisch followed it up with a third and fourth place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing at 20.20 and 20.23. The 400-yard medley took 6
th place after the team of
Chris Varrichio, Palmer, Pabisch and Nielsen finished at 3:19.97.
DAY 2:
The 200-yard Medley relay took third place to start the day after Gallub, Palmer, Pabisch and Nielsen finished at 1:28.93, setting a new school and Empire 8 conference record. Palmer had another outstanding performance in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in second place with a time of 54.58, just .18 behind the top finisher, while Peyser took sixth. Nielsen's 100-yard breaststroke finals time of 54.14 broke the school and confer4ence record, which was previously set in 2021 (55.30).
DAY 3:
Alex Palmer broke yet another program and conference record in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing first with a time of 1:58.78.
Jake Nielsen led the Knights in the 100-yard freestyle, taking fourth with a final time of 44.96, followed by Biran Pabisch with only .02 between them, taking fifth with his time of 44.98. The 400-yard freestyle relay finished in third place with Pabisch, Nielsen, Peyser and Gallub finishing with a time of 2:59.64, breaking the school and conference record with their finish. The team finished the meet with a total of 735 points for sixth place.
WHAT'S NEXT-Â The Knigths will head down the road to RIT on December 5th.
