Men's Swimming and Diving Cruises Past Brockport

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming and diving team continued its hot start to the 2025-26 season, earning a fifth-straight win by defeating Brockport 232-66 on Friday night. 

The relay team of Alex Palmer, Peter Peyser, Brian Pabisch, and Matt Pinzon Pacheco opened up the meet with a bang, placing first in the 200 yard medley relay at 1:34.58. The Knights took second and third overall in the race as well. Colin Babbitt kept the winning ways going in the 1000 yard freestyle, placing first at 10:15.65. Pabisch added his second win of the meet, touching the wall in 1:48.50 in the 200 yard freestyle. Palmer followed suit in the 100 yard backstroke, posting a time of 52.85 for first place, while Connor Baird was the top finisher in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 57.98.

Max Leroy kept the momentum going for Geneseo with a time of 2:03.50 in the 200 yard butterfly, then Peyser picked up his second win of the meet in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.69. Jack Keene was the first to touch the wall in the 100 yard freestyle, recording a time of 48.91. Palmer registered his third win of the meet with a time of 1:55.47 in the 200 yard backstroke, while Oliver Lutz tallied his first win in the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:16.37. Kyle Terri finished in 54.65 for the 100 yard butterfly in first place, then Baird rounded out the individual events in the 400 yard IM at 4:16.98 in first place. The team of Pabisch, Jake Nielsen, Peyser, and Gallub earned the win in the 200 yard freestyle relay to close out the swimming portion of the meet.

Greg Meder swept the diving events for Geneseo, recording scores of 338.60 in the three meter dive, and 334.55 in the one meter dive. The Knights will split up next week, going to the DIII shootout in Chicago and hosting a tri-meet with RIT and Trinity (Texas).
