BUFFALO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming and diving team defeated Division I foe, Canisius, 153 to 145, claiming their fourth win to open up their season.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Brian Pabisch and Jake Nielsen took the top two spots, touching at 20.77 and 20.87. They continued their stellar performance in the 100-yard freestyle, with Pabisch beating out Nielsen again with times of 46.59 and 47.42, respectively. Alex Palmer took first in the 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM with a time of 2:05.02 and 1:55.94 respectively.
Geneseo took first through fourth in the 1-meter dive, with Greg Meder in first place, scoring 291.45 points. The Knights then had a top three finish in the 3-meter diver, with Meder again taking first place with a final score of 328.28.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the Knights took the top spot with a final time of 1:33.09, beating Canisius by .22 seconds. The 400-yard freestyle team finished first as well, touching at 3:05.17.
The Knights compete at Brockport next Friday, October 31st at 5 PM.
