TROY, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team finished regular season Empire 8 action at Sage on Saturday with a 7-0 sweep. The Knights clinched the No. 2 seed for the postseason and have a 7-2 overall record with 6-1 in conference play.
The Knights picked up the doubles point in the match behind
Ashleigh Fredriksen and
Talia Wutz with a 6-2 win at first doubles, and
Emily Rowe and
Emily Kamber at second doubles with a 6-1 victory.
In singles action, the Knights earned four 6-0 6-0 sweeps.
Natalie Pipes,
Samantha Rava,
Rachel Molloy, and Fredricksen all picked up sweeps in their singles matches, while
Lauren Levatino secured the 7-0 win at fourth singles with a score of 6-0 6-1.
Geneseo will receive a first round bye in the Empire 8 tournament, and will travel to Hartwick for the semifinals and championship matches on Friday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 18.
