GENESEO, NY- The Geneseo Men's Swim & Dive team defeated RIT 183 to 169, set six new pool records and three conference records.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Brian Pabisch put up an incredible time of 45.90 in the 100-yard freestyle, setting a new pool record. Alex Palmer followed suit in the 200-yard Breaststroke with a new pool record of 2:05.59 with his first place finish. Connor Briard took the top spot in both the 100- and 200-yard butterfly, touching at 50.31 and1:52.78, respectively. In the 50-yard freestyle, Jordan Nielsen took first with his time of 20.82, while Griffin Merkling took first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:54.93.
The 200-yard freestyle relay took the top spot and set a pool and conference record, with Pabisch, Jake Nielsen, Jordan Nielsen and Casey Connors touching the wall at 1:21.98. The 400-yard freestyle relay set a pool record as well, with Pabisch, Nielsen, Nielsen and Dylan Gallub finishing at 3:02.38.
Trent Makowiec had an unbelievable day, setting three pool records, three school records and two conference records with his 1- and 3-meter dives. In the 1-meter, Makowiec scored 605.50 with his 11 dives, with both the first six (378.8) and full 11 dives setting individual records for the school and pool. In the 3-meter, he continued his performances setting pool and school records with his score of 625.90. Greg Meder took second in both events, scoring 531.90 in the 1-meter and 595.25 in the 3-meter.
