CLEVELAND, O.H. - The No. 18 SUNY Geneseo men's swimming and diving team came up short at Case Western Reserve University on Saturday afternoon, falling by a score of 191-109. The defeat marks the Knights first of the season, as they move to 4-1 overall.
The team of
Griffin Merkling,
Jake Nielsen,
Brian Pabisch, and
Jordan Nielsen opened up the meet in the 200-yard medley relay, where they placed second with a time of 1:33.38.
Alex Palmer picked up the first win of the meet for Geneseo, taking the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.99. In the 50-yard freestyle,
Jordan Nielsen and
Brian Pabisch racked up seven points for the Knights by finishing second (21.06) and third (21.35), respectively.

Casey Connors then took second through fourth, respectively, in the 100-yard freestyle.
Griffin Merkling added a second place finish for Geneseo in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.43. Palmer added another second place finish, posting a time of 2:07.00 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Colin Babbitt touched the wall second in the 500-yard freestyle, recording a time of 4:56.84. Pabisch and
Connor Baird kept the momentum going with a second and third place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, then Palmer and Merkling matched them by taking second and third in the 200-yard IM. The Knights capped off the meet on a high note, taking first overall in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:23.38. Pabisch,
