BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team returned to the SUNYAC Championship match for the first time since the 2017 season on Saturday afternoon, but couldn't pull off the upset over New Paltz and fell 5-0.
The Knights fought hard in doubles action to kick off the match, but were unable to pull out a point and entered singles play down 3-0.
Alex Galle and
Samantha Rava played a tight match at second doubles before falling 8-5, while
Natalie Pipes and
Rory Tobin came up short at first doubles, 8-3, and
Abigail Rockwood and
Elena DeRiso fell at third doubles 8-0.
In singles play, the Hawks clinched the match with wins at first and fourth singles. When the match ended, Galle was tied 2-2 in the second set at second singles, and
Katie Kujawa was up 2-1 in the second set of sixth singles. For the full box score from the match,
