ITHACA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's swimming and diving team traveled to Ithaca on Saturday afternoon and pulled out two wins, defeating Ithaca 163-137 and Union 251-45.
The team of
Courtney Sorbello,
Mackenzie Fischer,
Alise Hale, and
Alex Sotek kicked off the meet on a high note as they took first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:46.06.
Hannah Brockman helped keep the winning going in the next event, touching first in the 1000m with a time of 10:28.44. In the 200 yard freestyle,
Madison Sargent picked up the win for the Knights to make it three straight wins to open up the meet.
In the 100 yard breaststroke,
Emily Thomas and
Jessica Gordon finished first and second in the 100 yard breaststroke, respectively, with times of 1:06.32 and 1:08.84. Hale then picked up her second win of the day, posting 2:08.58 in the 200 yard butterfly. In the 50 yard freestyle, Sotek nabbed first place for the Knights at 23.78. She followed it up in the 100 yard freestyle for her third win of the day at 52.82.
Abby Funk earned her first win of the meet in the 500 yard freestyle, recording a time of 5:08.72 while Brockman was close behind at 5:08.95. Hale earned another win in the 100 yard butterfly, while
Mallory Upcraft concluded the individual swimming events in first in the 400 IM. The team of Sotek, Sargent, Fischer and
Amaya DiGiovanni earned the win in the 200 yard freestyle at 1:36.50.
