ROCHESTER AND HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's track and field team opened up its 2024-25 season on Friday evening, as they traveled to meets at Nazareth, Houghton, and Boston.
NAZARETH:
The Knights kicked off the meet with a first place finish from
Brynn Mooney in the 400m Invitational, as she posted a time of 58.24. Geneseo went on to sweep the top three spots in the mile, as
Dakota Limbert,
Shelby Boise, and
Chloe Kirgan finished first, second, and third, respectively.
Janelle Eckl kept the winning ways going in the 500m, earning the top spot with a time of 1:18.75. In the 60m hurdle finals, the Knights continued their strong performances as
Jillian Ambler took first at 9.12 seconds, while
Ava Bagley was right behind her in second at 9.13 and Lainey Flaitz in third at 9.40.
In the field events,
Zoe Connor took first in the shot put at 12.89m, while
Lauren Jaklitsch finished third. Connor also finished first in the weight throw, posting a distance of 16.95m. Elyse Klump went on to take first in the triple jump at 11.14m, while
Ariana D'Onofrio finished second in the long jump at 5.40m. For the full results from Nazareth,

HOUGHTON:
The Knights began the meet in the 5000m, where they swept the top four spots.
Gabby McCarthy earned the top spot with a time of 17:54.26, while
Jillian O'Rourke,
Ann Brennan, and
Isabel Marzec rounded out the top four, respectively. In the 800m,
Hannah Wierer and
Nieve Mahood finished first and second with times of 2:24.19 and 2:24.38, respectively. For the full results from Houghton,

BOSTON:
Penelope Greene and
Lilly Fowler-Conner traveled to Boston for the Knights to compete in the 5000m, where Greene posted a time of 16:35.83, and Fowler-Conner went 17:03.81.
