CHICAGO, IL: The Geneseo Women's Swimming & Diving team competed at the DIII Shootout hosted by the University of Chicago.
Geneseo started the meet with a sixth place finish in the 200-yard medley. Courtney Sorbello, Emily Thomas, Alise Hale and Alex Sotek touched the wall at 1:46.23
Alex Sotek took second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.53. She then went on to finish fifth in the 100-freestyle, touching at 52.40. In the 200-freestyle, Hannah Brockman tallied points for the Knights with a finish time of 1:57.07. Alise Hale took third overall in the 200-yard butterfly, with a finish time of 2:06.41. She also had an impressive performance in the 100-butterfly, taking fourth with a time of 57.04.
Nina Chicatelli, scored points for Geneseo in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall at 58.86. Abby Funk took fifth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:07.88. She also added to the team's total with her performance in the 400-IM, finishing at 4:49.49
The 200-meter freestyle team of Alex Sotek, Nina Chicatelli, Courtney Sorbello and Sarah Cooper took sixth with a time of 1:37.92. Lydia Benjamin finished fourth in the 1-meter dive, scoring 223.20. In the 3-meter, she scored 231.25 and secured another fourth-place finish.
The Knights head to Kenyon College next week to compete at the Kenyon College Total Performance Invite.
