Women's Cross Country Corie Holding

Women's Cross Country Takes Fifth at Fredonia Invitational and Paul Short Invitational

FREDONIA, N.Y. and BETHLEHEM, P.A. - The SUNY Geneseo Women's Cross Country team competed at both the Fredonia State Invite and the Paul Short Run. The Knights finished fifth at both Fredonia and Paul Short.  

In the 6k race at Fredonia, the Knights were led by Emma Evans who crossed the line at 24:06.6. Bethany Lorenzo, Ella Grinnell, and Katherine Peterson rounded out the top 40, all finishing at 21st, 22nd and 33rd. The team's average time of 24:32 secured the fifth place finish for the team. 

In the Paul Short Run, Penelope Greene led the way taking fourth with an incredible time of 20:52.9. Lilly Fowler-Conner kept the strong running going, crossing the finish line at 21:25.3 and taking 11th overall. Ari Reback, Gabriella McCarthy, Ann Brennan, and Jillian O'Rourke rounded out the top seven runners for the nights, leading Geneseo to a fifth-place finish.

Geneseo will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 19 when they host the Mike Woods Invite.
