GENESEO, NY- The Women's Swimming & Diving team took down Canisius University this afternoon, winning 160-139.
The Knights opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley, with Nina Chicatelli, Emily Thomas, Alise Hale, and Alex Sotek touching the wall at 1:49.59. Abby Funk and Hannah Brockman took the top spots in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing at 11:00.08 and 11:00.52 respectively. Thomas came out strong again in the 100-yard breaststroke, taking first place at 1:08.15.
Sotek had an impressive finish in the 50-yard freestyle, taking first place with a time of 24.84. She followed it up with another first place in the 100-yard freestyle, touching at 54.99. Hale led the way in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 58.92. The 400-yard freestyle relay finished with a time of 3:40.15 and securing first place.
In diving, Lydia Benjamin, Lauren Savage and Aurora Jacobson swept the top spots in the 1-meter dive, scoring 214.13, 210.75, and 171.23 respectively. They continued their dominant performance, taking the top spots in the 3-meter dive. Benjamin scored 212.78 while Savage had 206.63 and Savage finished with 169.43.
Geneseo will return next Saturday, as they compete against SUNY Brockport at Alumni Pool in Geneseo.
