GENESEO, NY- The Men's Swimming & Diving team took down Canisius University this afternoon, winning 154-137. 

The Knights opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, led by Griffin Merkling, Jake Nielsen, Brian Pabisch and Jordan Nielsen with a time of 1:33.16. In the 1000-yard freestyle, Collin Babbitt took second place, touching at 10:17.65, with teammate Will Fagan taking third. Jake Nielsen and Alex Palmer took the top two spots in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing at 58.84 and 59.12 respectively. Pabisch took first place in the 50-yard freestyle, with an impressive time of 21.31, narrowly beating Jordan Nielsen by .08.  

Jake Nielsen and Pabisch finished first and second in the 100-freestyle, touching at 46.92 and 47.94. In the 200-yard IM, Griffin Merkling finished first and teammate Alex Palmer took third. The 400-yard Freestyle relay team of Nielsen, Pabisch, Nielsen and Casey Connors took first place with a time of 3:08.43.  

In diving, Trent Makowiec finished in first with 333.83 points in the 1-meter dive, while Greg Meder took second with 304.58 points. In the 3-meter, Makowiec took first again with 362.10 points and Meder was close behind with 353.55.  

Geneseo will return to the pool next Saturday, as they compete against SUNY Brockport at Alumni Pool in Geneseo.
