GENESEO NY- The Women's Cross Country team hosted the 43rd Annual Mike Woods Invitational this morning at the National Warplane Museum on Saturday morning and earned first place at the meet out of 29 teams.  

Penelope Green led the way with a PR of 20:39.7, taking first with a five second margin. Greene trailed the runner from RPI around the last bend but outkicked her in the end to capture the top spot. 

Lilly Fowler-Connor had a great run, placing fifth overall with a time of 21:42.1. She was followed by Ann Brenna who took 13th and Gabrielle McCarthy in 15th, crossing the finish line at 22:03.3 and 22:12.7 respectively. Jillian O'Rourke finished in the top 20 for Geneseo, finishing at 22:25.3. Ari Reback and Sierra Doody rounded out the top seven for Geneseo, placing 29th and 35th respectively. This pushed the Knights to a first-place finish at the invite.  

The Knights will head to their first Empire 8 Championship on November 2nd.
