GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo Women's Tennis team had an incredible 9-0 victory over SUNY Brockport today. The win moves the Knights to 6-1 overall and 5-1 in Empire 8 action.
The Knights came out hot in doubles action, taking all three matches over Brockport. At first doubles, and Natalie Pipes picked up an 8-4 win, then Rachel Molloy and Katie Kajawa followed suit at second doubles with a clean 8-0 victory. Joann Catalano and Elena DeRiso won 8-2 at third doubles to secure the 3-0 sweep.
In singles play, Pipes tallied a 6-1and 6-0 victory at first singles, while Rava picked up a 6-1 and 6-2 win at second singles. Molloy won at third singles by a score of 6-2 and 6-3 and Kujawa earned another point for Geneseo at fourth singles with two 6-2 wins. Catalano and DeRiso rounded out the team, going 6-0/6-2 and 6-1/6-3 respectively.
The Knights will have their final regular season match tomorrow, Saturday the 12th against Sage.
