BUFFALO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's swimming and diving team celebrated its Senior Day on Saturday afternoon against Case Western., where they ended up dropping the meet by a score of 187.5 to 112.5. Prior to the meet, the Knights honored their six seniors:
Nina Chicatelli,
Mackenzie Fischer,
Ashley Felber,
Amaya DiGiovanni,
Jessica Gordon, and
Alexandra Pucci-Schaefer.
The Knights got off to a hot start in the meet, taking first place in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of
Courtney Sorbello,
Mackenzie Fischer,
Alise Hale, and
Alex Sotek took the top spot with a time of 1:49.94. In the next event,
Hannah Brockman kept the winning ways going with a first place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:43.55. Fischer then added her second win of the day by touching first in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:08.72. Teammate
Emily Thomas finished second at 1:09.23.
In the 200 yard butterfly, Hale earned a first place finish by posting a time of 2:12.75, and then Sotek followed it up in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.27 in first place. To cap off the swimming portion of the meet, Hale tied for first in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 59.12, and then the Knights took second in the 200 yard freestyle relay.
In the dive events,
Lydia Benjamin was the top diver for the Knights. In the one-meter dive, Benjamin finished fourth with a score of 240.85 and in the three meter dive she took third at 252.40. For the full results from the meet,

The Knights will return to the pool next weekend when they travel to RIT for a quad meet on Saturday, Jan. 27.
