BUFFALO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming and diving team took on Case Western on Saturday afternoon at Erie Community College, and ended up falling by a score of 162-136. Prior to the meet, the Knights honored their seven seniors:
Ben Ludlow,
Jordan Nielsen,
Jose Santana,
Christopher Weber,
Chester Pergan III,
Terran Cheng, and
Trent Makowiec.
The Knights kicked off the meet with a strong showing in the 200 yard medley relay, with the team of
Griffin Merkling,
Alex Palmer,
Ben Ludlow, and
Jordan Nielsen taking first at 1:33.66. The Spartans were able to bounce back and take first in the next few events, but then Ludlow came up clutch for Geneseo and touched the wall first in the 200 yard butterfly at 1:55.23.
Jake Nielsen and
Jordan Nielsen then kept the momentum going, finishing first and second, respectively, in the 50 yard freestyle. The brothers then return to the top of the podium in the next event, the 100 yard freestyle, by posting of times of 47.41 and 46.54, respectively, for first and second place. Ludlow went on to add his third win of the day in the 200 yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:57.21. Geneseo capped off the swim portion of the meet with a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team of

Brian Pabisch,
Gannon Moore, and
Jordan Nielsen finished with a time of 1:24.02.
In diving,
Trent Makowiec had a dominant performance by taking first in the one meter and three meter dive.In the one-meter, he tallied a 374.10 and then a 391.45 in the three meter, while teammate
Jacob Calus took second in both events.
