GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team improved to 2-0 in SUNYAC play on Wednesday afternoon with a 9-0 victory over Brockport.
The Knights got the action going with a sweep of doubles play, highlighted by 8-3 victories at second and third doubles.
Samantha Rava and
Katie Kujawa earned the win at second doubles, while
Elena DeRiso and
Talia Wutz picked up the victory at third doubles.
Natalie Pipes and
Rory Tobin competed at first doubles, tallying an 8-1 win.
Geneseo continued to dominate through singles play, with Pipes and Tobin earning 6-2 6-2 and 6-1 6-1 victories at first and second singles, respectively. Rava earned a 6-2 6-1 victory at third singles, while Kujawa tacked on a 6-2 6-3 win at fourth. Wutz notched a 6-0 6-0 score at sixth singles, and DeRiso battled to a 6-4 0-6 10-4 tiebreaker victory at fifth singles.
The Knights are 4-1 overall and will head to the ITA Tournament at Hamilton this weekend.
