ONEONTA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's cross country team had the first nine runners cross the finish line at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship Meet on Saturday afternoon. The championship winning performance marked the Knights' 12th-consecutive title.
Penelope Greene was at the front of the pack of Knights, as she took first place in the meet with a time of 21:57.2. Behind Greene were fellow juniors
Lilly Fowler-Conner and
Katie Grossman, who took second and third with times of 22:14.0 and 22:24.6, respectively.
Rachel Hirschkind (22:34.3) and
Katherine Vogel (22:37.8) rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth place, respectively.Â
Geneseo's dominance didn't stop at the top five, as the Knights also had the next four runners in the race cross the finish line.
Ann Brennan came in sixth with a time of 22:40.5,
Sierra Doody in seventh at 22:45.0,
Emily Miller in eighth at 22:53.3, and
Jillian O'Rourke in ninth at 23:00.9.
The Knights finished the meet with the best possible score of 15 points, while Oneonta finished second with 69 points. Behind Oneonta was Cortland (83), Plattsburgh (142), Brockport (143), Oswego (154), New Paltz (168), and Fredonia (230). For the full results from the meet,Â

Geneseo will now take on the Niagara Region Championship, hosted by Houghton, on November 11.
