GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's cross country team hosted the 42nd Annual Mike Woods Invite at the National Warplane Musuem on Saturday morning, and earned an impressive second place finish at the meet out of 23 teams.
Penelope Greene led the way for the Knights, taking first place overall in the meet with a time of 20:47.8 Greene trailed the runner from Johns Hopkins coming down the stretch, but out-kicked her in the end to capture the top spot.
Rachel Hirschkind also put up a strong performance for Geneseo, taking third overall with a time of 20:55.6.
Lilly Fowler-Conner and
Katie Grossman were the next Knights to cross the finish line for Geneseo, taking 16th and 17th, respectively, with times of 21:38.6 and 21:39.3.
Katherine Vogel and
Jillian O'Rourke rounded out the top six finishers for the Knights, crossing the finish line in 23rd and 24th with times of 21:53.1 and 21:56.8, respectively.
Geneseo will return to action on October 28 for the SUNYAC Championship meet at Oneonta.
