GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's swimming and diving team bounced back from its first loss of the season last weekend, by cruising to a 161.5 to 80.5 victory over Brockport in Alumni Pool.
The Knights opened up the meet by taking the top two spots in the 200 yard medley relay, and then the top three spots in the 1,000 yard freestyle behind strong races from
Karly Bray (11:10.87),
Kimberly MacDonald (11:15.16), and
Carolyn Zedack (11:17.55). In the 200 yard medley relay, the team of
Alexis Falvo,
Lauren Sposili,
Alise Hale, and
Mackenzie Fischer took the top spot and recorded a new pool record with a time of 1:47.10.
Abby Funk then kept the winning ways going in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.15.
Sposili picked up another first place finish in the 200 yard IM, touching first in 2:12.54, and then
Ashley Felber tacked on another top finish for the Knights with a time of 1:02.18. Zedack and Bray continued to dominate in the distance events by placing first and second, respectively, in the 500 yard freestyle. In the final individual event of the meet,
Sarah Cooper took first at 1:12.08.
Amaya DiGiovanni,
Nina Chicatelli,
Emily McCord, and
Mackenzie Fischer ended the meet on a high note by finishing first in the 200 yard freestyle at 1:39.75.
Jennifer Van Horne took second in both dive events, scoring 219.05 in the one meter dive and 243.70 in the three meter dive.
