GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming and diving team broke pool records in the 200 medley relay and the three-meter dive on Friday evening, as they cruised past Brockport, 180-53.
The team of
Jack Cimorelli,
Jordan Nielsen,
Jake Nielsen, and
Sam Matthews set the pool record in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:32.33.
Connor Towers then led the Knights in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:51.64, as Geneseo took the top three spots in the race.
Griffin Merkling,
Kaleb Hotaling, and
Mark Crocker all won the following three events, while Cimorelli tacked on his second win in the 100 yard butterfly at 51.27.
After showing his prowess in the 1000 yard freestyle, Towers took first place in the 100 yard freestyle as well.
Ben Ludlow continued the dominance for Geneseo in the 100 yard backstroke.
Sam Matthews took the top spot in the 500 yard freestyle at 4:50.17, while
Jake Nielsen recorded the best time in the 100 yard breaststroke at 58.76. Geneseo concluded the swimming events by tallying the fastest three times in the 200 yard freestyle relay.
Trent Makowiec broke the pool and school record in the three-meter six dive event, scoring 396.70. He also took the top spot in the one meter dive at 339.15.
