GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team celebrated its senior day on Saturday afternoon by picking up their fourth conference victory of the season and clinching a spot in the SUNYAC playoffs. The Knights celebrated seniors Julianna Schulz, Grace Klomp, and Natalia Krol in a pre-match ceremony.
Geneseo opened up the match with a pair of big doubles victories as Natalia Krol and Rory Tobin earned an 8-5 and the senior duo of Schulz and Klomp picked up an 8-2 win at second doubles. In singles action, Schulz, Tobin, and Klomp all earned 6-0, 6-0 wins, while Krol grinded out a three-set win, 6-1, 1-6, 10-8 to secure the senior day sweep of the Golden Eagles. The Knights have clinched their spot in the SUNYAC playoffs next weekend, but will take on Cortland tomorrow at 3 p.m. in hopes to earn the third seed for the tournament.
