BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team put up a strong fight against Oneonta in their last of three matches this weekend in Binghamton, but ultimately fell 7-2 to the Red Dragons.
In doubles action, senior Natalia Krol and sophomore Rory Tobin were able to pull out a big win at first doubles by a score of 9-8 (7-5). The tightly contested doubles match kept the Knights in the match heading into singles action, only trailing 2-1. Tobin was able to keep that momentum going into singles play as she won a three set match by a score of 6-3, 4-6, 10-5. Unfortunately, Geneseo wasn't able to pull out another match and ultimately fell 7-2, moving their record to 7-7 overall 3-2 in SUNYAC action.
The Knights have two matches remaining on their regular season schedule before SUNYAC playoffs, as they travel to Cortland on April 20 and then host Brockport on April 23 in the finale for the senior day.
