BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team bounced back from its rough start to the three-match SUNYAC weekend on Friday afternoon with a 9-0 win over Plattsburgh.
The Knights returned to action in less than 24 hours from their first SUNYAC loss of the season to New Paltz and dominated Plattsburgh to earn the shutout win. Senior Natalia Krol and sophomore Rory Tobin earned an 8-3 win at first doubles and the Knights won 8-4 at both second and third doubles. In singles action, Krol rolled to a 6-1, 6-3 win at first singles, while senior Julianna Schulz pulled out a third-set tiebreaker to get the victory by a score of 10-6. Senior Grace Klomp didn't give up a game at fourth singles, while Julia Paolino and Abigail Rockwood each earned routine victories at fifth and sixth singles, respectively. Tobin rounded out the singles action with a 6-4, 6-1 win at third singles.
Geneseo will return to action tomorrow at 3 p.m. to take on Oneonta in their final matchup of the weekend.
