ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Women's Cross Country team placed six runners in the top eighth finishers to take first place in the Niagara Regional Championship, hosted by University of Rochester on Saturday afternoon.
Kathleen McCarey earned first overall, followed shortly after by
Windsor Ardner in second place, crossing the line in 21:56.5 and 21:58.9, respectively.
Erin Eivers earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 22:23.5 while
Rachel Hirschkind (22:27.6) and
Sierra Doody (22:37.8) finished fifth and sixth overall.
Marcie Hogan added an eighth place finish while
Lilly Fowler-Conner placed 13th, each coming in under 23:00.
The Knights finished with 18 points to distance itself from the competition while second-place NYU finished with a score of 79. Ithaca (155), Rochester (162) and Hamilton (166) rounded out the top five. With the first place victory, the Knights earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships in East Lansing, Mich. on Saturday, Nov. 19.
