CORTLAND, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming and diving team opened up their 2022-23 campaign with an impressive 168-73 victory at Cortland on Saturday afternoon.
Geneseo won nine swimming events as well as both diving events. Junior
Trent Makowiec came in first for both the one-meter and three-meter dive, scoring 300.20 and 290.50, respectively. Senior
Jack Cimorelli placed first in three events, the 200-Yard medley relay, the 200-yard IM, and the 100-yard butterfly. Freshman
Jake Nielsen also earned three first-place finishes, with wins in both the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay.Â
The Knights have won their last six meets against the Red Dragons, with their last loss coming in 2012. Geneseo will host their next five meets, beginning with Nazareth on October 22 at 1 p.m.
