GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's swimming and diving team defeated NCAA Division I opponent Canisius on Saturday afternoon in Alumni Pool, 170.5-127.5.

Senior Lauren Sposili highlighted the win for the Knights by setting a pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.14. Geneseo opened up the meet with the team of Maya Marcyan, Sposili, Alexis Falvo, and Amaya DiGiovanni earning a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:49.19. The Knights then dominated the 1000-yard freestyle, with Hannah Brockman, Abby Funk, and Kimberly MacDonald taking the top-three spots, respectively.

First-Year Rian Dickman kept the winning ways going in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.18. Falvo tied for first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.12, while Dickman and DiGiovanni earned the top two spots in the 100-yard freestyle. Funk and Brockman earned first and second-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle with times of 5:20.19 and 5:20.50, respectively. Falvo then tacked on another top finish in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:00.04. The Knights capped off the swimming events with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:40.13.

Jenna MacLeod finished second in the one-meter dive at 213.23, and then scored 223.58 in the three-meter dive for another second-place finish.

Geneseo is now 3-0 on the season and will host Grove City and Fredonia next Saturday at 1 p.m. FULL RESULTS
