GENESEO, N.Y. – The top-ranked SUNY Geneseo Women's Cross Country team swept the top-six finishes to sweep for a first-place finish at the
Mike Woods Invitational at the National Warplane Museum on Saturday morning.
Senior
Kathleen McCarey led for the entire race, crossing the finish in 21:11.8 while
Windsor Ardner crossed in second, finishing the 6K race in 21:39.5
Marcie Hogan,
Erin Eivers,
Sierra Doody and
Rachel Hirschkind finished out the Geneseo sweep finishing third through sixth, respectively.
Lilly Fowler-Conner finished eighth and
Gabby McCarthy took ninth as the Knights placed eight runners in the top-10.
The Knights scored 15 points to complete the perfect sweep, finishing ahead of second place No. 24 Dickinson (85), third place Case Western Reserve (96), and fourth place No. 14 Middlebury (109).
Geneseo will run again on Saturday, Oct. 15 when they compete in the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan in Glassboro, N.J.
