GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's swimming & diving team honored graduating seniors Megan Palmer and Meghan Reitz, but the Knights fell just short against No. 19 Case Western Reserve, 157-143.
Junior Lauren Sposili highlighted the meet with a pool record first-place finish in the 200 breast, finishing in 2:26.38, the eighth-fastest time in program history. Sposili also finished first in the 1000 free, 200 IM, and teamed with junior Alexis Falvo and sophomores Ashley Felber and Amaya DiGiovanni to win the 200 medley relay. Sophomore Mackenzie Fischer earned a win in the 100 breast while first-year Alise Hale placed first in the 200 fly. DiGiovanni earned a win in the 100 free and touched third in the 50 free. Junior Kimberly MacDonald won the 500 free while junior Jenna MacLeod placed first off the three-meter board and second off the one-meter, the Knights' top diver in both events.
Geneseo moves to 2-2 in dual meets this season, and will swim again at the RIT Quad Meet on Saturday, Jan. 22.
