LOUISVILLE, K.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's cross country team traveled to Louisville, K.Y. for the NCAA Championship meet on Saturday, Nov. 20 and put together an impressive race, which culminated in a third-place finish. The top-three finish marked the program's best result at NCAA's since the 2016 season, where they also finished third.
Junior Kathleen McCarey paced the Knights with a 12th-place finish and a time of 21:19.3 in the 6k race. Following closely behind McCarey was junior Windsor Ardner and first-year Penelope Greene, who finished 22nd and 44th with times of 21:35.6 and 21:52.8, respectively.

At the 1k mark of the race, the Knights sat in seventh place, but they quickly moved up and were sitting at third at the 3k mark. Geneseo held onto that position as each of their top-five runners improved their position in the final 1k of the race.
Geneseo made its 22nd-consecutive NCAA Championship appearance. The Knights logged their seventh-consecutive top-10 finish, and the 14th in program history. Geneseo extended Division III's longest streak of qualifying both its women's and men's programs to the NCAA Championships. The Knights' men finished eighth.
