GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's swimming and diving team improved to 4-1 on the season with a 191-78 win over Cortland on Saturday afternoon. Highlighting the conference victory was the 100-yard breaststroke, where junior Lauren Sposili set a new pool record with a time of 1:06.96.
The Knights won 12 out of 14 swimming events in the meet, with Sposili and sophomore Amaya DiGiovanni each winning three events. The duo was joined by sophomore Ashley Felber and junior Alexis Falvo in the 200-yard medley relay, where they opened the meet with a first-place finish and a time of 1:49.82. After setting the pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke, Sposili went on to win the 200-yard breaststroke as well with a time of 2:28.88. DiGiovanni won the 200 and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 2:01.41 and 54.78, respectively.
Geneseo will return to action on Dec. 3, 4, and 5 at the Bomber Invitational, which will mark their final meet of the first semester.
