GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Women's Cross Country team ran away from the competition to earn first place as a team at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Championships on Saturday afternoon at the National Warplane Museum. 

Juniors Windsor Ardner and Kathleen McCarey finished as the top two across the line, defeating the next closest runners by 45 seconds. Ardner crossed in first place, finishing the 6k race in 22:10.7 while McCarey took second, crossing in 22:12.0. First-year Penelope Greene earned third overall with a time of 22:57.0 while junior Rachel Hirschkind placed fifth in 23:16.8. Junior Marcie Hogan and sophomore Emily Miller also crossed in the top 10, finishing eighth and 10th respectively, while junior Ciara Knott placed 30th overall. All seven Geneseo runners earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors as the team earned the regional crown. 

The Knights will compete at the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 20 in Louisville, Ky.
