PREBLE, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Kathleen McCarey crossed in first place to take home individual State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship honors as the Knights earned their 10th-consecutive SUNYAC title on Saturday afternoon at Dwyer Memorial Park.
McCarey crossed in first at 23:57.8 followed closely by junior Windsor Ardner (23:58.9), first-year Penelope Greene (24:45.3) and junior Rachel Hirschkind (25:02.8) in second, third and fourth places, respectively. Sophomore Emily Miller (25:21.2) placed seventh to round out the Knights' top five finishers as the Knights placed nine runners in the top 11 finishers.
McCarey earned the Knights' 18th individual SUNYAC Championship, becoming the 14th Geneseo runner to win the conference title. Geneseo brought home its 10th-consecutive SUNYAC Championship, and its 20th overall championship, the most by any member institution.
