BUFFALO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's swimming and diving team couldn't come up with a win against Division I opponent Canisius on Saturday afternoon. The Knights battled against the tough competition, but fell by a score of 174-126.
Junior Lauren Sposili had an outstanding meet for the Knights as she placed first in four events. In the meet-opening 200-yard medley relay, Sposili competed with Ashley Felber, Alexis Falvo, and Grace Kanaley, who out-touched Canisius by less than a second for first-place with a time of 1:50.09. Sposili went on to win the 1000-yard freestyle, the 500-yard freestyle, and the 200-yard IM.
Geneseo currently sits at 1-1 on the season, with their win coming in the season-opener against Nazareth. The Knights will look to get back in the win column next weekend with a tri-meet at Fredonia against the Blue Devils and Grove City.
