Women's Tennis Falls to Rochester In Final Home Match Of the Season

GENESEO, N.Y. - Senior Nina Lurie earned the Knights' lone point as the team fell, 8-1, to Rochester as the Knights celebrated senior day.

Lurie earned a 6-4, 7-5 victory at fifth singles to grab the team's sole point of the match. Junior Sam Montague dropped a close sixth-singles match, 6-4, 6-3 while first-year Natalia Krol fell at third singles, 6-3, 6-2.

Montague teamed with sophomore Dana Sorrentino at third doubles. The pair fell behind 7-4 and nearly came back to earn a doubles point, but ultimately fell, 8-6.

The Knights celebrated seniors Lurie and Vanessa Lam-Tran in a pre-match ceremony. The pair of seniors combined for 96 total victories, leading the team to three SUNYAC Championships.

Geneseo will cap its spring season with a trip to St. Lawrence to face the Saints on Saturday.
