Men's Swimming & Diving Tops Grove City, 155.5-132.5

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Harry Harkins won the 50 and 100 free while sophomore Alex Jakubiak took first in the 200 free to lead the Knights to a 155.5-132.5 victory over visiting Grove City on Saturday at Alumni Pool.

Harkins touched first in the 50 free with a time of 22.05 and notched the first-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 48.25. In the 200 free, Jakubiak touched up first at 1:49.83. Senior Mitchell Phelps swept the 100 and 200 back with finishing times of 53.69 and 2:00.26, respectively.

Geneseo honored its six-member senior class in a pre-meet ceremony. Seniors Erik Buckingham, Matt Farago, Matt Mattera, Mitchell Phelps, Kaz Sampson and John Wilson were each honored prior to the meet. In four years, the Knights have won three SUNYAC Championships and seek a fourth this winter.

The Knights will return to Alumni Pool on Friday, Nov. 15 when they host State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Cortland.
