Women's Swimming & DIving Tops Nazareth In First Meet Of The Season

WEBSTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Lauren Siegel earned victories in the 100 back and 100 fly as the Knights defeated host Nazareth, 204-96, to open the season with a victory on Saturday at Webster Aquatic Complex.

Siegel placed first in the 100 back with a time of 1:00.40 and finished the 100 fly with a time of 59.41 to lead the Knights. First-year Lauren Sposili grabbed victories in the 200 free (2:01.33) and the 200 IM (2:16.05) while junior Paige Turcotte earned victories in the 200 fly (2:13.92) and the 200 breast (2:27.61). Junior Deidra Osula won the 50 free with a time of 24.32 while junior Alyssa Vadala scored 274.90 off the one-meter board to take first place. Geneseo won 12 out of 16 events to defeat the Golden Flyers.

The Knights (1-0) will host NCAA Division I Canisius on Saturday, Oct. 26 in the team's home opener at 1:00 p.m.
