Women's Tennis Stays Unbeaten With 8-1 Win Over Brockport

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Sam Montague earned wins at first doubles and second singles to pace the Knights as they earned an 8-1 victory over State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe Brockport on Tuesday afternoon.

Montague teamed with sophomore Dana Sorrentino at first doubles to earn an 8-2 victory and went on to win at second singles, 6-1, 6-0. First-years Julianna Schulz and Grace Klomp earned an 8-2 win at second doubles as the Knights gained a 2-1 lead.

In singles play, Schulz earned a straight-set victory at first singles while Sorrentino added a 6-0, 6-3 win at the third flight. Klomp, sophomore Cate Gluchowski and sophomore Gretchen Ayoub each won in straight sets at fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, to close out the victory.

Geneseo improves to 4-0 on the season, including a 3-0 mark against SUNYAC teams, and will return to action Saturday when they travel to Fredonia. Five Knights will also compete in the ITA Regionals, hosted by William Smith, beginning on Saturday.
