Men's Swimming & Diving Tops Fredonia & Grove City at Tri-Meet

FREDONIA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore Will Eng earned a pair of individual first-place finishes and led off the Knights winning 200 free relay as the squad rolled to victories over Grove City and host Fredonia on Saturday afternoon.

Eng placed first in the 50 free with a time of 21.81 and then won the 100 free with a 47.68 finish. In the 200 free relay, Eng clocked a 21.68 leg as the Knights touched first with a time of 1:26.16. Junior Matt Mattera won the 1000 free with a 10:17.21 finish while sophomore Harry Harkins took first in the 200 free (1:46.47). Senior Kaz Sampson clocked a 59.49 to win the 100 breast while junior Mitchell Phelps won the 200 fly (1:57.98) and the 100 fly (51.52). Senior Clark Davis finished first in the 200 breast (2:13.38) as well. First-year diver Corey Wirth took first off the one-meter and three-meter board.

The Knights (2-1) will host Cortland in their home opener on Saturday, November 10.
