CLEVELAND, OHIO - SUNY Geneseo senior Jeff Doser swept the short-distance freestyle events and anchored the Knights' first-place 400 free relay as the team defeated host Case Western Reserve, 158-142, Saturday in Cleveland.
Doser clocked a 21.52 in the 50 free, finished in 47.26 in the 100 free, and touched up in 1:43.01 in the 200 free to take first in all three events. Junior diver Samuel Randall swept the diving events as well, finishing with a score of 199.15 on the one-meter and 326.70 on the three-meter board. Sophomore Matt Mattera took first in the 1000 free (9:52.32) and the 500 free (4:48.96) to sweep the distance events while senior Scott Guyton added a first-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 51.76.
Entering the final event of the day, Geneseo led Case Western Reserve, 145-138, but need a first-place finish in the 400 medley relay to clinch the victory.
