Women's Tennis Avenges Regular Season Loss with Semifinal Victory over Oneonta

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Seniors Anika Pornpitaksuk and Lauren Salzano took down the top doubles flight to pace the Knights in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Semifinal victory over Oneonta, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon at the Binghamton Tennis Center.

Pornpitaksuk and Salzano earned an 8-3 victory while senior Rachel Ollis and junior Vanessa Lam-Tran took an 8-1 decision at second doubles. Junior Nina Lurie and first-year Dana Sorrentino teamed at the third flight to earn an 8-1 victory as well, giving the Knights a 3-0 lead heading into singles play. Pornpitaksuk quickly dispatched her opponent at third singles, 6-0, 6-0, while Lurie took a 6-2, 6-3 decision at fifth singles to lock up the victory for the team.

Geneseo will move on to the SUNYAC Championship match at 10:00 a.m. on Monday where the Knights will face New Paltz in search of their seventh-straight SUNYAC crown.
